ADAPTED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FEDERATION BULGARIA" - /FAFA/ implements, assists and supports all forms of youth activities and social integration, including for disadvantaged people.

The directions in which we work are educational and charitable.

The Federation is based on the belief that sport unites people all over the world, it is a way to achieve understanding and friendship.

  • We believe that if we change ourselves, we also change the world in which our children live. And in this world we may see many differences, but there are also common values.

Our vision for integrating children into the norm and children with special educational needs is based on this belief.

This is the basis of our programs and implemented initiatives.

From 2015 until now, FAFA annually organizes and holds the Integrated Children's Sports Festival "YOU ARE A PART OF US", with the emphasis always placed on the integration of children and youth with disabilities, children deprived of parental care, children with developmental delays from homes and normal children.

On July 1, 2019, the Minister of Youth and Sports - Mr. Krasen Kralev awarded honorary medals to the children and young people with disabilities, who for the first time represented Bulgaria at the European Championships for athletes with intellectual disabilities in the city of Brno, Czech Republic.

On December 3, 2019, on the International Day of People with Disabilities, "Federation of Adapted Physical Activity - Bulgaria" - /FAFA/ was awarded first place at the Annual National Awards for Social Innovation in Support of the Social Economy in the category "Social Innovations, related to social inclusion" by deputy. the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mrs. Zornitsa Rusinova, in connection with the implemented events and projects for the benefit of children with disabilities.

On 17.03.2022, during the third edition of an official ceremony organized by the State Agency for Child Protection (DAZD), the Minister of Youth and Sports, Radostin Vassilev, presented the "Ambassador of Goodness" prize to the chairman of the Federation "Adapted Physical Activity Bulgaria" Slav Petkov. He was awarded for his work with the Bulgarian team for athletes with Down syndrome. Радостин Василев връчи приза „Посланик на доброто“ на председателя на Федерация „Адаптирана физическа активност България“ Слав Петков. Той беше награден за работата си с българския отбор за спортисти със Синдром на ДАУН.

FAFA is the founder of the first elite sports school "Special Academy" for youth with mental disabilities. At the moment, 20 athletes between the ages of 15 and 30 are trained at the school.

Since 2021, the Federation is a member of the SUDS and VIRTUS world organizations responsible for high performance sports for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

FAFA is licensed as a National Sports Federation under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Bulgaria.
